Wow! How would that feel? To love being at work as much as you love being at home, or on holidays or wherever you are. Everyday is a joy where you wake up and greet the world with energy and happiness no matter whether you are going into work or not that day. I think that is how we all should live everyday and why not. Who said work had to be boring, or stressful, or unrealistically demanding?
According to a Harris Interactive study only 20% of employees in the United States felt passionate about their jobs. That means a whopping 80% are not so happy about the work they do every week. That means they spend a huge amount of their life on work that means nothing to them. How incredibly sad is that?
And what does that mean for your company? Engaged employees bring in new ideas, are excited about their work, complain less, and are more apt to look for and find solutions to problems. If 80% of your staff are not bought in, it means you are getting very little of the above and may even be getting worse as actively disengaged employees begin complaining and undermining what their engaged coworkers accomplish. Let’s stop that now.
